camera!
this weekend i got my camera and was finally able to take pictures of paris. on saturday i went to the 1st and strolled around with some friends. we ended up going to the notre dame, but didn’t want to go inside because there were too many people. we decided instead to get vin chaud (absolutely delicious even though i was very skeptical of it at first sight) and hang around the front of notre dame instead. then we went to a friends soiree, wine, aperitifs, pain, fromage, and m&ms. yum.
on friday i went with some other bc kids to pigalle, which turned out to be my favorite place to go out to the bars yet. why, you might ask? french hipster central. enough said.
sunday, i woke up and was surprised by a beautiful, sunny day in paris. the first one yet! so i grabbed my camera, and met my friend at the tuileries. we walked around for a bit and then decided to take advantage of our student visas and go to musee d’orangerie (free entrance into almost every museum in paris. wat up!?!). i got to see monet’s famous lili series and willow series. i was speechless. it was so amazing to be able to see up close the brush strokes and colors! i then walked through the tuileries to the louvre, which i have yet to go to. next on my list along with musee d’orsay.
tomorrow is my first day of classes at my school and i could not be more excited. i’ve been waiting to get into a rhythm here in paris since i haven’t really had a solid schedule yet. so this week should be fun.
until next week,
